Job Title: Bartender & Food Server (FOH)

Department: Front of House
Reports To: Restaurant Manager / FOH Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time

Job Summary

The Bartender & Food Server is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by preparing and serving beverages, taking food orders, and ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. This role requires strong customer service skills, product knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced FOH environment.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Greet guests warmly and create a positive first impression

• Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen/bar

• Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring correct presentation and quality

• Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and handle requests or concerns professionally

Bartending Duties

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and standards

• Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and stock levels

• Verify guest age and comply with alcohol service regulations

• Handle cash and POS transactions accurately

Food Service Duties

• Have thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and allergens

• Make recommendations and upsell food and beverage items when appropriate

• Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and reset efficiently

FOH Operations

• Follow all hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards

• Coordinate with kitchen and FOH team for smooth service flow

• Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a bartender or food server preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multitask and work under pressure

• Knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Team-oriented attitude with a guest-first mindset

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent customer service and hospitality skills

• Basic math and cash-handling ability

• Time management and attention to detail

• Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods

• Ability to lift and carry trays, glassware, and supplies
