A Travel Consultant is responsible for assisting clients with all aspects of travel planning by providing expert advice, customized itineraries, visa assistance, flight and hotel bookings, and ensuring an exceptional customer service experience. The role involves understanding client preferences, offering best travel solutions, and maintaining long-term relationships to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer requirements, travel goals, budget, and preferences.
Provide expert guidance on destinations, attractions, best travel routes, and ideal travel dates.
Create customized travel itineraries for leisure, corporate, and group travel.
Handle flight bookings, hotel reservations, transfers, and travel insurance.
Provide visa assistance, documentation support, and ensure accurate submission.
Issue confirmations, vouchers, and tickets while maintaining error-free documentation.
Promote travel packages, holiday deals, and company services to maximise sales.
Upsell additional products such as tours, transfers, insurance, and premium services.
Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and referrals.
Respond promptly to customer queries via phone, email, or WhatsApp.
Handle travel-related issues, amendments, cancellations, and emergencies efficiently.
Ensure a smooth travel experience before, during, and after the trip.
Coordinate with airlines, hotels, DMCs (Destination Management Companies), and local partners.
Negotiate rates and ensure timely confirmation from suppliers.
Manage internal databases and maintain updated records of bookings and client profiles.
Maintain daily reports of enquiries, bookings, and conversions.
Process invoices, payments, and refunds as required.
Follow company policies and achieve monthly sales targets.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in the travel or hospitality industry (freshers can be considered with good communication).
Strong knowledge of global destinations, visa processes, and flight/hotel booking systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong sales mindset with the ability to convert enquiries into bookings.
Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and manage time effectively.
Proficiency in MS Office and travel booking tools (GDS knowledge is an added advantage).
