Solar Consultant – Job Description
Role Overview
A Solar Consultant is responsible for educating customers about solar energy solutions, assessing their energy needs, and recommending suitable solar systems. They act as both a technical advisor and a sales professional, helping clients transition to renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
Meet potential customers (residential/commercial) to explain solar solutions
Conduct site assessments (roof size, sunlight exposure, energy usage)
Design or recommend appropriate solar panel systems
Prepare and present proposals, cost estimates, and ROI analysis
Guide customers through financing options, subsidies, and government policies
Coordinate with installation teams to ensure smooth project execution
Maintain relationships with clients for referrals and repeat business
Stay updated on solar technology trends and regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or related field (preferred)
Experience:
1–5 years in solar sales, energy consulting, or technical sales (freshers may apply for junior roles)
Skills:
Strong communication and presentation skills
Basic technical knowledge of solar PV systems
Sales and negotiation abilities
Understanding of net metering and government incentives (India-specific knowledge is a plus)
Ability to use CRM tools and MS Excel
