Job Description – Academic Counsellor

About the Role

We are looking for a result-oriented and enthusiastic Academic Counsellor to guide prospective students in selecting suitable online degree programs and educational courses. The ideal candidate should have strong communication, counselling, and sales skills, with the ability to convert leads into admissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Connect with prospective students through outbound and inbound calls.

• Understand students’ educational backgrounds, career goals, and learning requirements.

• Explain available courses, program benefits, eligibility criteria, and admission procedures.

• Follow up with interested leads and convert them into successful admissions.

• Achieve monthly sales targets and admission conversion goals.

• Maintain accurate lead details, follow-ups, and student interactions in the CRM.

• Handle student queries and provide a smooth admission experience.

• Build strong relationships with prospective students and guide them throughout the admission process.

• Maintain daily calling, follow-up, and conversion reports.

Required Skills

• Excellent verbal communication and convincing skills.

• Strong interest in sales, lead conversion, and target achievement.

• Ability to handle objections and close admissions effectively.

• Good follow-up, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Comfortable working in a target-driven environment.

• Basic knowledge of CRM tools and MS Office is an advantage.

Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

• Experience in EdTech sales, academic counselling, admissions, inside sales, or telesales is preferred.

• Freshers with excellent communication and sales aptitude may also be considered, depending on the hiring requirement.

• Languages: English and Hindi are mandatory; knowledge of regional languages is an added advantage.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Daily calling and lead follow-ups.

• Lead-to-admission conversion rate.

• Monthly admission and revenue targets.

• Follow-up discipline and CRM data accuracy.

• Overall sales performance and student experience.

Ideal Candidate: Someone who is confident, persuasive, target-oriented, and passionate about helping students make informed educational decisions.
