The Dog Father is a pet retail and care destination focused on providing quality products, services and experiences for pets and their parents.

We are looking for an energetic, responsible and customer-oriented Store Manager who can take ownership of daily store operations, build strong relationships with pet parents and contribute to our online brand presence.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people, has an interest in pets and is comfortable creating engaging social media content.

Key Responsibilities

1. Store Operations & Management

• Manage day-to-day store operations and ensure smooth functioning.

• Supervise store staff, assign responsibilities and monitor performance.

• Manage inventory, stock availability, product displays and replenishment.

• Maintain store cleanliness, hygiene, organization and presentation.

• Handle billing, cash management, daily sales reporting and basic administrative activities.

• Ensure excellent customer service and maintain store standards.

• Coordinate with the warehouse and management for stock requirements.

2. Customer Engagement & Pet Parent Consultation

• Welcome customers and understand their requirements before recommending products.

• Consult pet parents on suitable pet food, treats, toys, accessories, grooming products and other essentials.

• Develop a good understanding of different pet breeds, nutritional needs and product categories.

• Build strong relationships with regular customers and encourage repeat purchases.

• Handle customer queries, feedback, complaints and product-related concerns.

• Follow up with customers through WhatsApp and other communication channels.

• Maintain a customer-first approach and focus on building trust rather than aggressive selling.

3. Social Media & Content Creation

• Create simple, engaging videos and reels featuring store activities, products, pets and customers (with permission).

• Regularly capture photos and videos of new arrivals, product launches, offers and interesting store moments.

• Appear in videos when required and communicate confidently on camera.

• Coordinate with the marketing team for content ideas, campaigns and promotions.

• Assist in posting Instagram stories, reels and other social media updates.

• Respond to social media comments, messages and customer enquiries.

• Engage with the online pet parent community and help generate store visits and enquiries.

4. Online Customer Engagement & Sales

• Handle customer enquiries received through WhatsApp, Instagram and other online channels.

• Share product recommendations, availability, pricing and relevant information.

• Assist customers with placing orders and coordinate with the fulfilment team.

• Follow up on pending enquiries and convert potential customers into buyers.

• Encourage repeat purchases and maintain relationships with existing customers.

5. Sales & Business Growth

• Take ownership of monthly store sales targets.

• Identify opportunities to increase average order value through relevant product recommendations.

• Promote new products, offers, bundles and seasonal campaigns.

• Understand customer preferences and share feedback with management.

• Identify opportunities to improve the overall shopping experience and grow store revenue.

Candidate Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Confident, approachable and comfortable interacting with customers.

• Genuine interest in pets and the pet care industry.

• Basic understanding of dogs, cats, pet food and pet accessories (or willingness to learn).

• Comfortable creating Instagram reels, stories and basic videos.

• Basic knowledge of Instagram, WhatsApp Business and social media platforms.

• Familiarity with Canva and basic video editing applications such as CapCut or VN is preferred.

• Good organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage a team and take independent ownership of responsibilities.

• Previous experience in retail, hospitality, customer service or store management is preferred.

Experience: 2–5 years preferred. Candidates with strong communication skills and relevant customer-facing experience may also be considered.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance will be evaluated on:

1. Monthly store sales and achievement of sales targets.

2. Customer satisfaction and repeat purchase rate.

3. Quality of customer consultations and product recommendations.

4. Store management, inventory accuracy and operational discipline.

5. Timely creation of store-level social media content.

6. Responsiveness to online enquiries and customer follow-ups.

7. Conversion of online enquiries into actual sales.

8. Staff productivity and overall store performance.
