Job Description – Store Manager

Job Title: Store Manager

Reporting To: Area Operations Manager / Retail Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Store Manager to manage the overall operations of the retail store, drive sales performance, lead the store team, and ensure an excellent customer experience. The Store Manager will be responsible for achieving business targets, maintaining store standards, managing inventory, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

• Manage and oversee the complete day-to-day operations of the store.

• Ensure compliance with company SOPs, policies, and operational guidelines.

• Maintain store cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and overall presentation.

• Ensure proper opening and closing procedures, billing, and cash management.

Sales & Business Performance

• Achieve monthly and annual store sales targets.

• Monitor daily sales, footfall, conversion, ATV, UPT, and other retail KPIs.

• Develop and implement strategies to improve sales and store productivity.

• Drive upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

• Analyze store performance and take corrective actions where required.

Team Management

• Lead, motivate, and manage the store sales team.

• Prepare staff schedules and manage attendance and productivity.

• Conduct regular team briefings and provide product and sales training.

• Monitor individual team performance and provide feedback.

• Support recruitment and onboarding of store staff.

Customer Experience

• Ensure high standards of customer service across the store.

• Handle customer queries, complaints, and escalations professionally.

• Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business.

• Ensure the team maintains appropriate grooming and service standards.

Inventory Management

• Monitor stock availability, replenishment, and movement.

• Ensure proper handling and storage of merchandise.

• Conduct regular stock checks and support stock audits.

• Minimize stock loss, damages, and inventory discrepancies.

• Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams for stock requirements.

Visual Merchandising & Store Standards

• Ensure products are displayed as per company and VM guidelines.

• Maintain attractive and organized product displays.

• Ensure promotional and seasonal displays are executed properly.

• Maintain consistent brand standards across the store.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly store performance reports.

• Ensure accurate POS and system usage.

• Monitor store expenses and operational requirements.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Qualification & Experience

• Graduate / MBA preferred.

• 3–7 years of experience in retail operations, preferably in Apparel, Textile, Fashion, Lifestyle, or related industries.

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager role preferred.

• Strong understanding of retail sales, store operations, and customer service.

• Experience in handling and motivating a retail sales team.
