📋 Job Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Staffing
Technical Sourcing: Recruit licensed HVAC Service Technicians, Installers, Apprentices, Project Managers, and Dispatchers.
Pipeline Management: Build active networks with trade schools, vocational colleges, and local union chapters.
Credentials Verification: Validate universal EPA certifications, state mechanical licenses, and clean driving records (MVR).
2. Compliance & Safety Coordination
Safety Protocols: Partner with the Safety Officer to enforce OSHA compliance, PPE usage, and hazardous material handling.
Workers' Comp: Oversee the administration of field injury claims, incident reporting, and return-to-work programs.
Labor Standards: Maintain strict compliance with state and federal wage-and-hour laws regarding travel time, overtime, and on-call shifts.
3. Employee Relations & Retention
Retention Strategy: Design competitive performance incentives, tool allowances, and seasonal bonus structures to combat technician turnover.
Onboarding & Training: Conduct safety-first orientations and coordinate continuous manufacturer training certifications (e.g., NATE).
Conflict Resolution: Mediate disputes between dispatch communication teams, field supervisors, and technicians.
4. Compensation & Benefits
Payroll Alignment: Collaborate with accounting to track billable vs. non-billable hours, commission metrics, and piece-rate pay.
Benefits Administration: Manage specialized field benefits, including health plans, retirement match programs, and company vehicle policies.
🎓 Job Requirements
Education & Experience
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Industry Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of HR experience specifically within field services, construction, or HVAC industries.
Certifications: PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP credentials are highly preferred.
Hard & Soft Skills
HVAC Literacy: Strong understanding of industry terminology, trade licenses (EPA 608, Journeyman), and apprenticeship progressions.
Software Proficiency: Experience utilizing specialized Field Service Management (FSM) software alongside standard HRIS/ATS systems.
Communication: Exceptional conflict resolution skills tailored to a diverse, mobile, and hands-on workforce.
