Car mechanic

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer with strong knowledge of railway wagons, heavy machinery, and mechanical systems. The candidate will be responsible for designing, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting heavy equipment and wagon-related components to ensure smooth operations and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Inspect, maintain, and repair railway wagons and heavy machinery.

• Monitor the performance of mechanical equipment and identify faults.

• Prepare maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing of machinery.

• Read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.

• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams for smooth operations.

• Ensure all machinery and wagon components comply with safety standards and regulations.

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.

• Handle installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce downtime.

Required Skills:-

• Strong understanding of wagon structures, bogies, braking systems, couplers, and underframe components.

• Knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance and mechanical systems.

Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding systems.

• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.

• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance practices.

• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with MS Office.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications:-

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• 2–5 years of experience in railway wagons, heavy machinery, manufacturing, or maintenance industry preferred.

• Experience in maintenance, inspection, or operation of heavy equipment will be an added advantage.

• Key skills of mechanical engineering having understanding and knowledge of wagon or heavy machinery

• Strong knowledge of railway wagon components such as bogies, braking systems, couplers, suspension systems, and underframe structures.

• Understanding of heavy machinery operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and blueprints.

• Preventive and breakdown maintenance skills for heavy equipment and wagons.

• Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and fitting processes.

• Knowledge of bearings, gears, shafts, motors, and transmission systems.

• Understanding of safety standards, inspection procedures, and quality control.

• Root cause analysis and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in machine installation, commissioning, and alignment.

• Knowledge of lubrication systems and maintenance planning.

• Familiarity with tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.

• Basic understanding of AutoCAD and mechanical design software.

• Ability to prepare maintenance reports and documentation.

• Good communication, teamwork, and coordination skills.

• Time management and ability to work under pressure.

• Knowledge of material handling equipment and industrial machinery.

• Understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and inventory management.
