Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager with strong experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the procurement of finished dosage forms. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing pharmaceutical products from reliable manufacturers, negotiating commercial terms, ensuring timely availability, and maintaining effective vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle procurement of finished pharmaceutical dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, syrups, injections, dry syrups, ointments, etc.

• Source products from approved and reliable pharmaceutical manufacturers.

• Develop and maintain a strong network of pharmaceutical manufacturers and suppliers.

• Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate rates, and finalize commercial terms.

• Coordinate with vendors for product availability, production schedules, dispatch, and delivery.

• Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.

• Coordinate with QA, Warehouse, Finance, Regulatory, and Business Development teams.

• Monitor product demand, stock requirements, lead time, and market availability.

• Negotiate price, MOQ, credit terms, delivery timelines, and other commercial conditions.

• Follow up with manufacturers to ensure timely supply of products.

• Resolve vendor-related issues concerning shortages, delays, pricing, and product availability.

• Maintain vendor database, product details, quotations, and purchase history.

• Support cost optimization and identify competitive sourcing opportunities.

Candidate Profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.

· 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical purchase/procurement.

• Mandatory experience in purchasing finished dosage forms.

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturers and suppliers.

• Excellent negotiation and vendor-management skills.

• Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/purchase software.

• Strong communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.

Candidate Requirements

· Bachelor's/Master's degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.

· 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical purchase/procurement.

· Good knowledge of pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging materials, and supplier management.

· Strong negotiation, vendor-management, communication, and analytical skills.

· Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.

· Knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical quality requirements will be an added advantage.
