Understand milling operations (facing, contouring, pocketing, drilling), cutting tools, feeds & speeds, and materials.
G-code & M-code knowledge
Even if CAM generates code, you should be able to read, edit, and troubleshoot it.
Tooling knowledge
Know different cutters (end mills, ball nose, drills), tool selection, tool life, and offsets.

Problem-Solving & Optimization

Reduce cycle time
Avoid tool collisions
Improve surface finish
Optimize toolpaths for efficiency
