Job Title: Quality Engineer – CNC Lathe

Location: Ambattur, Chennai

Experience: 2–5 Years

Salary: ₹2.00 – ₹4.50 LPA (Based on Experience)

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspection of CNC turned components.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.

• Use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Gauge, Thread Plug Gauge, Thread Ring Gauge, and Air Gauge.

• Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) and maintain inspection records.

• Ensure product quality meets customer requirements and internal quality standards.

• Identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Handle customer complaints and support quality improvement activities.

• Prepare quality documents including Inspection Reports, Control Plans, SOPs, and PPAP documents.

• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Stores to resolve quality issues.

• Monitor process capability and reduce rejection and rework.

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 quality systems.

• Maintain calibration records of measuring instruments.

• Support internal and external quality audits.

Required Skills

• Experience in CNC Turning / CNC Lathe component inspection.

• Good knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.

• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.

• Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and 7 QC Tools is preferred.

• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

• Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Word).
