CNC Machine Operator

We are looking for a CMM oprator engineer to join our team at 3d Auto Tech. The role involves operating machinery, assembling products and maintaining quality standards on the production floor. • Job Summary

  The CMM Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating coordinate measuring machines to validate the dimensional accuracy and geometrical features of mechanical parts against technical blueprints or CAD models.

  Key Responsibilities

  Machine Operation & Setup: Load and fixture parts onto CMM equipment, ensuring proper alignment and stability for accurate measurement.

  Programming: Develop or modify inspection programs using specialized software like PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, MCOSMOS, or Modus.

  Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret 2D blueprints and 3D CAD models, with a strong emphasis on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols.

  Dimensional Inspection: Perform first article (FAI), in-process, and final inspections to verify part conformance to specified tolerances.

  Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze measurement results, identify non-conformities, and generate detailed inspection reports for quality assurance.

  Maintenance & Calibration: Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment and probes to ensure continued accuracy.

  Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; a technical degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is highly preferred.

  • Experience: Typically requires 2–5 years of experience in CMM operation within a precision manufacturing, aerospace, or automotive environment.

  • Technical Skills:

  o Proficiency in metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, or Mitutoyo).

  o Expertise in GD&T and blueprint reading.

  o Experience using manual measurement tools like vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
