Calibration Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Calibration Engineer who is responsible for the calibration, maintenance, qualification, and performance verification of laboratory instruments to ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.

The role supports accurate and reliable measurement systems by maintaining calibration schedules, troubleshooting instrument issues, and ensuring traceability to national or international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, verification, and preventive maintenance of laboratory instruments such as:

  • Analytical balances

  • pH meters

  • Conductivity meters

  • Spectrophotometers (UV-Vis)

  • HPLC/GC systems (basic calibration support)

  • Temperature-controlled equipment (ovens, incubators, refrigerators, freezers)

  • Pressure gauges and vacuum gauges

  • Pipettes and volumetric equipment

  • Thermometers, hygrometers, and data loggers

• Develop and maintain calibration schedules in accordance with quality management requirements.

• Ensure calibration activities are traceable to recognized national or international standards.

• Maintain calibration certificates, records, and documentation.

• Investigate out-of-tolerance calibration results and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and coordinate repairs with equipment manufacturers or service providers.

• Support equipment installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ), and performance qualification (PQ) activities.

• Review calibration procedures and implement continuous improvements.

• Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, GMP, GLP, or other relevant regulatory requirements.

• Participate in internal and external audits and respond to audit observations.

• Train laboratory personnel on proper equipment handling and calibration practices.

• Monitor environmental conditions affecting calibration accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in calibration, metrology, laboratory equipment maintenance, or quality assurance (experience requirement may vary based on role level).

• Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and measurement principles.

• Familiarity with calibration standards and uncertainty concepts.

• Experience with calibration management software is an advantage.

• Strong documentation and technical report-writing skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
