Job Summary
The Retail Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medicines, handling prescriptions, maintaining stock, and ensuring proper billing in the hospital pharmacy. The pharmacist must follow all drug rules and provide correct medicines to patients as per prescription.
Key Responsibilities
1. Medicine Dispensing
Dispense medicines as per doctor prescription.
Check medicine name, quantity, and expiry.
Explain dosage to patients if required.
Ensure correct medicine issue.
2. Billing & Counter Handling
Prepare bills in software.
Check rate and quantity.
Handle cash / card / online payment.
Maintain daily sales record.
3. Stock Management
Check stock availability.
Maintain minimum stock level.
Inform Team Leader for shortage.
Check expiry medicines regularly.
Arrange medicines properly in rack.
4. Hospital Supply
Supply medicines to wards / ICU / OT.
Coordinate with nurses and doctors.
Handle emergency medicine issue.
5. Compliance & License Rules
Follow Drug License rules.
Maintain pharmacy register.
Follow hospital SOP.
Ensure proper storage (temperature / fridge items).
6. Cleanliness & Discipline
Maintain counter cleanliness.
Follow duty timing.
Wear uniform / ID card.
Maintain good behaviour with patients.
7. Customer / Patient Handling
Handle patient queries politely.
Give correct information.
Avoid billing mistake.
