An Operation Theatre (OT) Technician is a healthcare professional responsible for assisting surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures. They prepare and maintain the operation theatre, ensure the availability and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment, and provide technical support before, during, and after surgeries.
Prepare the operation theatre for surgical procedures.
Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Assist surgeons and nurses during operations.
Operate and maintain OT equipment, including surgical lights, suction machines, monitors, and anesthesia equipment.
Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.
Assist in patient positioning and transportation.
Clean and sanitize the operation theatre after procedures.
Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate records related to surgical procedures and equipment usage.
