Job Purpose
we are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Senior Sales Manager – Insurance to drive business growth across Life and General Insurance verticals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sales leadership, business development, team training, POS partner management, client acquisition, policy renewals, claims assistance, and achieving business targets while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Mandatory Requirement: Valid IRDAI Licence/Certification (Life and/or General Insurance) is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Sales Leadership
Drive business growth across Life and General Insurance verticals by expanding market reach and developing sustainable sales pipelines.
Recruit, train, mentor, and manage POS (Point of Sales) partners and sales teams across multiple locations in India.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets through effective sales planning and execution.
Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to increase revenue and market share.
Insurance Sales & Business Development
Drive end-to-end sales of Life Insurance products including Term Plans, Endowment Plans, Child Plans, and Pension Plans.
Generate business for General Insurance products including Health, Motor, Marine, Corporate Fire, and Group Insurance policies.
Present suitable insurance solutions, address customer objections, negotiate terms, and close sales effectively.
Collaborate with internal teams including Wealth Management, Equity, Mutual Funds, and Pre-Sales to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, POS partners, and insurance companies.
Provide professional insurance advisory and servicing support to clients.
Ensure timely resolution of client queries and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Renewals, Claims & Operations
Track and manage policy renewals to maximize retention and prevent policy lapses.
Coordinate with insurance companies and clients for smooth claim processing and escalation management.
Assist clients with claim documentation, follow-ups, and query resolution.
Manage day-to-day POS operations to ensure smooth policy processing and timely service delivery.
Ensure quick turnaround time for quotations, policy issuance, and proposal conversions.
Compliance & Administration
Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations, company policies, and industry guidelines.
Maintain accurate client records, policy information, and documentation in internal systems.
Monitor proposal conversions and maintain effective follow-up mechanisms.
Reporting & MIS
Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly sales MIS reports.
Track sales pipelines, conversion ratios, renewals, and business performance metrics.
Stay updated on market trends, insurance products, and industry developments.

Achievement of Life and General Insurance premium targets.
Business growth and revenue generation.
POS partner activation, productivity, and retention.

Desired Candidate Profile
Graduate in any discipline.
Valid IRDAI Licence/Certification is mandatory.
3–8 years of experience in Insurance Sales, Agency Sales, Bancassurance, Broking, or Financial Services.
Strong understanding of Life and General Insurance products.
Proven experience in sales team training, development, and business expansion.
Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Sound knowledge of IRDAI regulations, compliance requirements, and insurance industry practices.
Proficiency in CRM systems, digital sales platforms, and MS Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated, target-driven, and adaptable to changing market conditions.
