Core Responsibilities
• Merchant Acquisition: Visit local retail shops, businesses, and commercial establishments to onboard new merchants onto PhonePe’s digital payment platform.
• Hardware & Service Deployment: Drive the installation, activation, and adoption of PhonePe QR codes, Soundboxes, and EDC (Electronic Data Capture) card machines.
• Up-selling & Cross-selling: Introduce merchants to value-added financial products and services, including merchant loans, credit lines, and POS financing.
• Account Management & Retention: Build long-term relationships with onboarded accounts, handle merchant queries or escalations, and manage periodic ReKYC (Re-Know Your Customer) verifications.
• Competition Mapping: Study, track, and report competitor activity, pricing, and market share across specific categories and geographies.
Key Requirements & Eligibility
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field (though intermediate/12th qualifications are sometimes accepted for local field roles).
• Experience: Typically 0 to 5 years of experience in field sales, business development, or merchant acquisition (fintech, banking, or retail sectors preferred).
• Skills: Strong local market research capabilities, solid verbal communication, negotiation skills, and basic familiarity with CRM tools or digital reporting apps.
• Job Type: Full-time, field-based role involving daily travel across an assigned territory.
