Delivery Boy / Delivery Executive – Pharma Distribution
Department: Distribution / Logistics
Location: Pune
Reporting To: Store In-Charge / Distribution Supervisor
Job Purpose
To ensure safe, timely and accurate delivery of medicines, surgical products and healthcare items to hospitals, pharmacies, clinics and other customers while maintaining proper documentation and product handling standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Order Delivery
- Collect medicines and healthcare products from the store against the approved invoice/dispatch document.
- Deliver orders to hospitals, pharmacies, clinics and customers within the committed time.
- Ensure the correct products, quantities and invoices are delivered to the correct customer.
2. Invoice & Documentation
- Carry invoices/delivery challans safely during delivery.
- Obtain customer acknowledgement/signature/stamp wherever required.
- Submit signed invoices, PODs and other documents to the office/store on the same day.
- Report any discrepancy, shortage, damage or rejection immediately.
3. Product Handling
- Handle medicines carefully during loading, transportation and unloading.
- Follow FEFO/FIFO and product-specific storage/transport requirements as instructed.
- Maintain proper care of temperature-sensitive/cold-chain products.
- Use approved cold boxes/thermacool boxes and ice packs wherever required.
- Ensure cold-chain deliveries are made as per company SOP.
4. Customer Service
- Maintain polite and professional behaviour with hospital, pharmacy and customer staff.
- Coordinate with customers regarding delivery timing and pending requirements.
- Immediately inform the supervisor about customer complaints or delivery issues.
5. Vehicle & Route Management
- Plan the daily delivery route efficiently to save time and fuel.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic condition of the company/assigned vehicle.
- Follow all traffic and road-safety rules.
- Ensure medicines are not left unattended in the vehicle.
6. Payment / Collection
- Collect cash/cheques/other approved payments against invoices whenever assigned.
- Deposit collected amount and documents with the accounts/store department as per company procedure.
- No personal use or retention of company/customer money.
7. Coordination with Store
- Verify all packages before leaving the premises.
- Coordinate with the Store In-Charge for urgent, priority and emergency deliveries.
- Assist in loading/unloading and arranging dispatches when required.
8. Daily Reporting
- Maintain a daily delivery/collection record.
- Report completed, pending, cancelled and failed deliveries.
- Inform the supervisor immediately in case of accident, vehicle breakdown, product damage, customer refusal or any unusual incident.
Eligibility & Skills
- Minimum 10th / 12th standard preferred.
- Valid two-wheeler driving licence.
- Good knowledge of Pune city routes.
- Basic reading/writing ability in Marathi/Hindi, with basic English preferred.
- Smartphone knowledge and ability to use WhatsApp/Google Maps.
- Physically fit and comfortable with field work.
- Honest, punctual, responsible and customer-friendly.
- Previous experience in pharma distribution / medical store / hospital delivery will be an advantage.

Working Conditions
- Field-based job
- Daily travel across Pune and nearby areas.
- Working hours may vary depending on delivery schedules and emergency requirements.
- May require occasional urgent deliveries on weekends/holidays as per business requirements.
