South Indian Cook

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled South Indian Cook to prepare authentic South Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate should have expertise in cooking a variety of South Indian dishes, including meals, breakfast items like dosa, idli, vada, sambar, chutneys, and various curries, using traditional techniques and fresh ingredients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes such as South Indian meals, dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, sambhar, rasam, and different types of chutneys.

• Maintain food quality and consistency while following traditional recipes.

• Ensure hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen according to food safety standards.

• Manage kitchen inventory, including spices, grains, and fresh ingredients.

• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure dishes are cooked perfectly.

• Customize dishes as per customer preferences and dietary restrictions.

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours.

• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth food preparation and service.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a South Indian Cook in a restaurant, hotel, or catering service.

• Deep knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously.

• Understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety regulations.

• Good communication skills and teamwork ability.

• Flexibility to work weekends, early mornings, or late shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in vegetarian South Indian dishes only.

• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen or catering service.
