We are looking for a reliable and energetic Kitchen Helper to support our food truck operations. You will play a key role in both our central kitchen and on-site at the truck - ensuring food is prepared, assembled, and served to our standards every single day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Food truck setup & closing
Set up the food truck before service, including equipment checks, arranging workstations, and stocking ingredients and supplies.
Perform end-of-day closing duties including cleaning, securing food storage, shutting down equipment, and restocking for the next service.
Ensure the truck is clean, organised, and ready for health and safety compliance at all times.
Central kitchen preparation
Prepare ingredients and components in the central kitchen according to recipes, specifications, and established SOPs.
Carry out mise en place tasks including chopping, portioning, marinating, and batch cooking as directed.
Label, date, and store all prepared items properly to maintain food freshness and hygiene standards.
Food truck assembly & service
Assemble menu items at the food truck accurately, quickly, and consistently following the given instructions and SOPs.
Support the team during peak service hours to ensure smooth, efficient order fulfilment.
Monitor ingredient levels at the truck and communicate replenishment needs proactively.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Prior experience in a kitchen, food service, or catering environment is preferred but not required.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and SOPs precisely and consistently. Strong sense of food hygiene and cleanliness; a valid food handler's certificate is an advantage. Physically fit and comfortable standing for extended periods, working in a confined space, and handling the setup and breakdown of equipment. Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and
events.
A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work as part of a small, fast-moving team.
