We are looking for enthusiastic Kitchen Staff / Commis to join our growing team. The role mainly involves preparing simple café dishes by following established recipes and SOPs, while maintaining our standards of taste, presentation and hygiene. Training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for candidates who want to build a career in the café and hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare café items such as sandwiches, pasta, salads, smoothies, snacks and other dishes as per recipes and SOPs.
• Ensure every dish is prepared with consistent taste, portion size and presentation.
• Assist with basic food preparation, including cutting, portioning, assembling and ingredient preparation.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
• Ensure food is prepared quickly and correctly so guests receive a great café experience.
• Coordinate with the kitchen, service and counter teams for smooth day-to-day café operations.
• Maintain proper storage, labelling and organisation of ingredients.
• Assist with stock checking, replenishment and minimising food wastage.
• Keep kitchen equipment, workstations and utensils clean and well maintained.
• Assist with opening and closing kitchen preparation when required.
• Inform the supervisor or manager about ingredient shortages, equipment issues or quality concerns.
• Follow The Brunch Box Cafe’s standards for food quality, presentation and hospitality.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 10th/12th pass
• Previous experience in a café, restaurant, bakery, QSR or hospitality environment is an advantage.
• Basic cooking or kitchen knowledge is preferred, but advanced chef skills are not required.
• Ability to follow simple recipes, SOPs and instructions.
• Good sense of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy café hours.
• Guest-focused mindset and attention to food quality and presentation.
• Flexible to work weekends, holidays and rotational shifts when required.
