Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Mess Cook to prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for large groups of people. In this role, you will be responsible for cooking bulk meals, maintaining strict kitchen hygiene, and ensuring that food is prepared according to established schedules and dietary guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Cook and prepare large quantities of food for daily breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to the set menu.

• Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all food preparation, storage, and serving areas.

• Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, checking, and properly storing food supplies and ingredients. Track stock levels to prevent shortages.

• Equipment Safety: Safely operate and clean commercial kitchen equipment, including large ovens, grills, slicers, and mixers.

• Compliance: Adhere to all local food health and safety regulations, as well as institutional dietary policies.

• Waste Control: Practice portion control and efficient food handling to minimize waste.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Proven experience as a cook, line cook, or prep cook, preferably in a high-volume catering environment (e.g.school cafeteria, corporate cafeteria etc).

• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and bulk-cooking techniques.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work in a hot kitchen environment

• Communication: Ability to follow written recipes and verbal instructions clearly.

Work Environment

• Shift work may be required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak dining hours.

Salary negotiable. Salary as per market standards.
