Job Description: Continental Cook
A Continental Cook is an entry-level kitchen professional responsible for assisting senior chefs in preparing and presenting continental cuisine (European dishes such as Italian, French, Mediterranean, etc.). This role focuses on learning kitchen operations, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting smooth food production.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
Assist in preparing continental dishes according to recipes and standards
Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients
Prepare basic sauces, stocks, salads, and simple dishes
Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items
Kitchen Support
Support the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef during service
Maintain cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment
Follow mise en place procedures before service
Help in plating and presentation as directed
Quality & Hygiene
Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
Maintain personal cleanliness and proper uniform
Check freshness of ingredients
Minimize food wastage
Inventory Assistance
Help in receiving and storing deliveries
Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies
Report shortages or spoilage to senior chefs
Required Skills
