Job Summary
The Commis III assists the kitchen team in daily food preparation and cooking operations while maintaining Burma Burma’s high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about vegetarian cuisine and eager to learn authentic Burmese flavors and modern culinary techniques.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in basic food preparation such as washing, cutting, chopping, and portioning vegetables and ingredients
· Support senior kitchen staff in preparing dishes according to standardized recipes and portion control
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment
· Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as per company and statutory guidelines
· Assist in receiving, storing, and labelling food supplies properly
· Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients to minimize wastage
· Help in plating and presentation under supervision
· Perform any other kitchen-related duties as assigned by senior chefs
Qualifications & Skills
· Basic culinary knowledge or a diploma/certificate in culinary arts preferred
· Prior experience in a professional kitchen is an advantage but not mandatory
· Willingness to learn Burmese cuisine and vegetarian cooking techniques
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills
Experience
· 0–1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen or hotel/restaurant setup
