Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis I – Pastry to join our pastry team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in pastry production, dessert preparation, baking techniques, and food presentation. The candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked goods while maintaining hygiene, food safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, cookies, and other baked products as per standard recipes.

• Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all pastry items.

• Assist in planning and developing new dessert and bakery menu items.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section.

• Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor about inventory requirements.

• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO/FEFO).

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.

• Minimize food wastage and maintain portion control.

• Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.

• Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff when required.

• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and service.

• Comply with company SOPs and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Certification in Bakery & Pastry Arts, Hotel Management, or a related field is preferred.

• 2–4 years of experience as a Commis I – Pastry or in a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry production, and dessert preparation.

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
