  • Food Preparation (Mise en Place): Washing, peeling, chopping vegetables/fruits; measuring and mixing ingredients; preparing sauces and basic components for dishes like sambar and chutneys.

  • Cooking Assistance: Cooking and plating South Indian dishes following recipes, quality, and presentation standards, often starting with simpler items.

  • Hygiene & Safety: Maintaining cleanliness of workstations, tools, and kitchen areas; adhering to food safety (HACCP) and sanitation regulations; handling chemicals safely.

  • Inventory & Stock: Unpacking deliveries, checking stock, rotating items, discarding expired food, and reporting low supplies.

  • Station Management: Setting up and breaking down their workstation, cleaning equipment, and ensuring proper food temperatures.
