We are looking for a Commis 1 – Tandoor to join our team at Tadka Rani – Modern Indian Food and prepare flavorful, authentic tandoor items for our guests.

Key responsibilities include preparing and delivering high-quality tandoor dishes, assisting in menu setup, operating the tandoor safely, and supporting senior chefs with task delegation when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present tandoor items such as breads, kebabs, tikka, grills, and signature dishes.

• Manage tandoor temperature, fuel usage, and cooking timings with precision.

• Assist in menu development and execution of modern tandoor-based dishes.

• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety protocols meticulously.

• Ensure proper marination, storage, and handling of all tandoor ingredients.

• Support senior chefs with mise-en-place and daily operational tasks.

• Work efficiently during high-volume service and maintain quality consistency.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with tandoor in a professional kitchen.

• Strong understanding of Indian spices, marinades, grilling techniques, and dough preparation.

• Ability to manage high heat, long production hours, and fast-paced kitchen environments.

• Willingness to work 10-hour shifts in a 24/7 operational kitchen.

• Commitment to teamwork, discipline, and following kitchen SOPs.

• Interest in exploring modern tandoor techniques and presentations.
