Job Title: Cashier

Reports To: Store Manager / Floor Supervisor
Job Summary
The Cashier is responsible for handling customer billing, processing payments, and providing excellent customer service at the checkout counter. The role requires accuracy in billing, handling cash, and maintaining a smooth checkout process for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Greet customers politely and assist them at the billing counter.
Scan and bill grocery items accurately using the POS system.
Handle different modes of payments such as cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, and digital wallets.
Ensure correct billing and provide receipts to customers.
Maintain proper cash balance in the cash drawer during shifts.
Resolve basic billing issues and escalate complex issues to the Store Manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the billing counter area.
Assist customers with product queries and store information when required.
Follow store policies related to billing, refunds, and exchanges.
Coordinate with floor staff in case of barcode or pricing issues.
Ensure customer satisfaction by providing quick and efficient checkout service.
Close daily cash register and submit reports to the Store Manager.

Qualification
Minimum: 10th / 12th Pass
Prior experience in retail or grocery store billing preferred.
Experience
0–2 years of experience in retail cashier or billing role preferred.
