Cashier

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join our grocery store team. The ideal candidate will handle transactions efficiently, provide excellent customer service, and ensure a smooth checkout experience for all customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them during checkout

• Scan items accurately and process purchases using POS systems

• Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments securely

• Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges as per store policy

• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout counter

• Resolve customer queries or escalate issues when necessary

• Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts

• Assist with bagging groceries and ensuring customer satisfaction

• Follow store policies on pricing, discounts, and promotions

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

• Basic math and computer skills

• Prior cashier or retail experience is an advantage

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately

• Customer-oriented attitude and attention to detail
