Job Summary
A Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for production and operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and evaluate suppliers for materials and services
· Prepare and process purchase orders as per requirements
· Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors
· Ensure timely procurement of materials to avoid production delays
· Maintain vendor relationships and performance tracking
· Coordinate with production, stores, and finance teams
· Monitor inventory levels and plan procurement accordingly
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
· Analyze market trends for cost optimization
· Maintain records and documentation of purchases
Required Skills & Competencies
· Strong negotiation and communication skills
· Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management
· Understanding of technical specifications and materials
· Vendor management and relationship-building skills
· Analytical and cost-saving mindset
· Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
· Time management and planning skills
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience
2–5 years of experience in purchase or procurement role (preferred)
