Job Summary
The Patient Caretaker is responsible for providing basic care, support, safety, and assistance to patients admitted in the rehabilitation and psychiatric care facility. The role includes assisting patients with daily activities, maintaining hygiene, ensuring patient comfort, observing behavior, and supporting the medical and nursing team in patient management.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Support
Assist patients in daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
Support patients during therapy sessions, outdoor activities, and routine schedules.
Ensure patients maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness.
Help bedridden or physically weak patients with mobility and positioning.
Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients.
Monitoring & Observation
Observe patient behavior, mood, and physical condition regularly.
Immediately report any unusual behavior, aggression, self-harm risk, medical emergency, or discomfort to the nursing staff or doctor.
Maintain proper patient safety and prevent absconding or harmful incidents.
Ward & Facility Management
Maintain cleanliness and discipline in wards and patient areas.
Ensure patient belongings are properly managed and accounted for.
Assist in admission, discharge, and patient shifting procedures.
Support nursing staff during emergencies or patient handling.
Documentation & Communication
Maintain daily caretaker reports if required.
Communicate politely and professionally with patients, families, and staff members.
Follow all hospital protocols, safety procedures, and management instructions.

Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification: 10th / 12th Pass
Experience in hospital, rehabilitation centre, old age home, or healthcare setup preferred
Freshers with good attitude and willingness to learn may also apply
Working Conditions
Rotational shifts including night duty
Weekly off as per duty roster
