Key Responsibilities
A. Design Concept & Client Requirements
Develop innovative and functional interior design concepts based on client requirements, preferences, budget, and project scope.
Understand client briefs and translate them into practical design solutions.
Prepare mood boards, material boards, colour schemes, furniture layouts, and design presentations.
Ensure designs are aligned with project timelines and approved budgets.
Present design concepts to clients and incorporate feedback appropriately.
B. Project Management & Coordination
Manage multiple interior design projects simultaneously from design development to completion.
Prepare and monitor project schedules, deliverables, and design milestones.
Coordinate with clients, site teams, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Track project progress and proactively identify potential delays or design-related issues.
Ensure timely submission of drawings, designs, material selections, and other project deliverables.
Escalate critical project issues to the reporting manager on time.
C. Space Planning & Technical Drawings
Develop accurate and compliant space plans, furniture layouts, ceiling plans, flooring layouts, elevations, sections, and other technical drawings.
Ensure drawings are practical, detailed, and suitable for site execution.
Verify dimensions, specifications, materials, and design details before issuing drawings.
Coordinate design drawings with site conditions and other project requirements.
Make necessary revisions based on client, site, or project requirements.
D. Material & Finish Selection
Research, source, and recommend suitable materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and accessories.
Ensure material selections meet the required standards of quality, aesthetics, durability, availability, and budget.
Coordinate with vendors for samples, quotations, specifications, and lead times.
Maintain updated knowledge of new materials, finishes, design trends, and products.
Recommend cost-effective alternatives wherever required without compromising the overall design intent.
E. Team Leadership & Mentoring
Guide, supervise, and mentor junior interior designers.
Review drawings, concepts, presentations, and other deliverables prepared by junior designers.
Provide constructive feedback to improve design quality and technical accuracy.
Allocate design-related tasks and monitor their timely completion.
Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, and professional development within the design team.
F. Documentation & Filing
Maintain complete and organized project documentation.
Maintain updated records of drawings, revisions, approvals, material selections, quotations, specifications, and client communications.
Ensure proper naming, version control, and filing of project documents.
Maintain documentation that allows easy access and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
G. Time Management & Project Coordination
Prioritize multiple projects and deliverables effectively.
Complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines.
Coordinate daily design activities with project requirements and site schedules.
Follow up regularly with relevant stakeholders to avoid delays.
Identify bottlenecks and take corrective action to ensure timely project completion.

4. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in interior design.
Strong knowledge of residential, commercial, office, or similar interior projects.
Experience in handling projects independently from concept to execution.
Strong knowledge of space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, and technical drawings.
