Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead – Interior Design to independently manage and execute interior design projects from concept to completion. The candidate will be responsible for design development, client coordination, technical drawings, budgeting, consultant coordination, and site execution support while ensuring quality, timelines, and project requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Brief & Requirement Gathering

Understand client requirements, project objectives, design vision, site conditions, and applicable regulations.

Translate client requirements into practical and creative design concepts.

Coordinate with internal teams for design feasibility and project planning.

2. Design & Documentation

Prepare conceptual designs, schematic layouts, plans, elevations, sections, and working drawings.

Develop detailed interior design drawings in coordination with the design team.

Maintain and update the required drawing/documentation checklist.

Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and issued within project timelines.

3. Client Management & Presentations

Conduct client meetings to understand requirements and present design concepts.

Prepare presentations, mood boards, layouts, and design proposals.

Incorporate client feedback and site conditions into design revisions.

Conduct design presentations and final walkthroughs.

4. Project Budgeting & Planning

Assist in material selection, budgeting, and preliminary cost estimation.

Ensure designs are aligned with approved project budgets and timelines.

Coordinate with project teams for BOQ preparation and cost estimates.

5. Design Development & Coordination

Lead the development of approved concepts into detailed construction drawings.

Coordinate with Structural, MEP, and other consultants.

Prepare detailed BOQs, specifications, compliance documents, and material schedules.

Prepare and issue final GFC (Good for Construction) drawings.

6. Site Coordination & Execution Support

Conduct site visits to ensure design intent is properly implemented.

Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and vendors to resolve design-related issues.

Provide technical clarifications and drawing revisions wherever required.

Monitor site progress from a design and quality perspective.

7. Project Review & Documentation

Track project progress, deliverables, milestones, and timelines.

Prepare project-specific MIS/progress reports.

Maintain proper documentation, drawing revisions, and version control.

Ensure systematic archiving of project design data.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop.

Strong knowledge of interior detailing and construction drawings.

Understanding of MEP coordination and material specifications.

Basic knowledge of building bylaws, fire safety norms, and development regulations.

Good knowledge of BOQ preparation and cost estimation.

Knowledge of materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and interior execution.

Education

Bachelor's/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred.

The ideal candidate should have 6–8 years of hands-on experience in interior design, with strong exposure to client handling, design development, technical drawings, BOQs, consultant coordination, and site execution. Experience in leading a design team and managing multiple projects independently will be an added advantage.
