2. Drafting and Documentation: Create detailed technical drawings, plans, and elevations using design software such as AutoCAD or Sketch Up.
3. Material and Furniture Selection: Assist in researching and selecting appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings based on design concepts and client requirements.
4. Space Planning: Contribute to space planning activities, including creating furniture layouts and determining functional requirements.
5. Sample Coordination: Coordinate and track samples of materials, finishes, and fabrics for review and selection.
6. Client Communication: Assist in communicating with clients to understand their design needs, preferences, and feedback.
7. Research and Trend Analysis: Stay updated on the latest design trends, materials, and products through research and analysis.
8. Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Liaise with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, source materials, and coordinate deliveries.
9. Site Visits: Conduct site visits to observe construction progress, take measurements, and ensure adherence to design intent.
10. Project Administration: Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining project files, organizing documents, and preparing presentations.
11. Collaboration: Collaborate with the design team and other stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and consultants.
12. Continuing Education: Engage in professional development activities, attend industry events, and seek opportunities to enhance design skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in Interior Design or a related field.
· Previous internship or entry-level experience in interior design is preferred.
· Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Revit, or other relevant tools.
· Basic understanding of design principles, space planning, and material selection.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate documentation.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet project deadlines.
