Job Description: Junior Architect

Position Overview

The Junior Architect will support senior architects and project managers in the design, documentation, and execution of architectural projects. They will contribute to drawings, research, site coordination, and presentation work, while gaining professional knowledge and experience within the office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conceptual design development and preparation of sketches/presentations.

• Prepare architectural drawings: plans, sections, elevations, and details.

• Develop working drawings and construction documents under supervision.

• Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other consultants’ drawings.

• Assist with site visits, prepare observation reports, and track compliance with drawings.

• Support client presentations with renders, reports, and physical/digital models.

• Maintain drawing archives, digital filing, and follow office CAD/BIM standards.

• Research materials, vendors, and technical details as required.

Reporting Structure

The Junior Architect will report directly to the Senior Architect/Project Architect. They may also work closely with the Project Manager and Design Principal for guidance and feedback.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar design software.

• Basic knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and detailing.

• Strong design sense and ability to prepare accurate, neat drawings.

• Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to office standards and protocols.
