Key Responsibilities
1. Day-to-Day Accounting
Record and maintain daily accounting transactions.
Maintain sales, purchase, receipt, payment, journal, and contra entries.
Maintain customer and vendor ledgers.
Ensure proper accounting and documentation of all transactions.
Verify supporting documents before posting entries.
2. Accounts Receivable & Payable
Monitor customer outstanding balances and follow up for collections.
Prepare and maintain receivable ageing reports.
Track vendor outstanding payments and payment due dates.
Reconcile customer and vendor accounts.
Identify and resolve ledger discrepancies.
3. Sales & Purchase Accounting
Prepare and process sales invoices, credit notes and debit notes.
Record purchase invoices and verify them against supporting documents.
Check GSTIN, HSN/SAC, tax rates, quantities and invoice values.
Coordinate with the sales and purchase teams for accounting-related queries.
4. Banking & Reconciliation
Record bank transactions and maintain bank ledgers.
Perform monthly bank reconciliation (BRS).
Track cheque receipts, cheque payments, returns and bank charges.
Monitor cash and bank balances.
5. GST & Statutory Compliance
Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns.
Reconcile purchase data with GSTR-2B.
Ensure correct input tax credit accounting.
Assist with TDS calculations, payments and returns.
Maintain documentation required for audits and statutory compliance.
6. Inventory & Stock Accounting
Coordinate with the inventory/warehouse team for stock-related accounting.
Reconcile physical stock with accounting records.
Monitor stock purchases, sales and adjustments.
Assist in identifying stock discrepancies.
