About the Role
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting and financial records of Khalsa Cycle Stores. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of sales, purchases, expenses, payments, receivables, and payables while ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain daily accounting records of the business.
Record and manage sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.
Maintain accurate records of cash and bank transactions.
Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Prepare and maintain sales invoices, purchase bills, debit notes, and credit notes.
Perform regular bank and cash reconciliation.
Maintain proper records of customer and supplier accounts.
Assist in GST-related accounting and compliance, including maintaining relevant records and coordinating with the CA when required.
Maintain records of inventory-related transactions and coordinate with the sales/store team to ensure accounting records match actual transactions.
Prepare basic monthly sales, expense, outstanding, and profitability reports for management.
Verify bills, invoices, and supporting documents before recording transactions.
Ensure timely filing and organisation of all accounting documents.
Identify discrepancies in accounts and resolve them promptly.
Coordinate with the CA, auditors, banks, suppliers, and customers whenever required.
Maintain confidentiality of the company's financial information.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Previous experience as an Accountant will be preferred.
Good knowledge of Tally / Tally Prime, MS Excel, and basic accounting principles.
Knowledge of GST and basic taxation is preferred.
Good understanding of debit/credit, ledgers, reconciliation, receivables, and payables.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
Should be responsible, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential financial information.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting responsibilities.
