Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team, specializing in the construction industry with a focus on Commercial building projects executed on a fast-track basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The role demands an individual who can handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and has a thorough understanding of construction accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee and manage the financial operations of Civil construction projects, ensuring that all financial activities align with company policies and procedures.
Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and manage cost allocations to ensure financial efficiency and control.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to prepare budgets and forecasts for hospital construction projects.
Conduct financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure projects are completed within budget.
Reporting:
Generate timely financial reports, including project cost reports, cash flow projections, and financial statements for management review.
Prepare and submit periodic financial reports to relevant authorities and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial practices.
Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and ensure all financial documentation is accurate and readily available.
Invoice and Payment Processing:
Manage the invoicing process, ensuring that all project-related invoices are accurate and processed in a timely manner.
Reconcile vendor and subcontractor accounts, resolving any discrepancies to ensure timely payments.
Financial Risk Management:
Identify financial risks associated with fast-track hospital projects and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor cash flow and manage financial risks to ensure project continuity.
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, procurement teams, and other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
Participate in project meetings to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on Civil Construction.
Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices, including job costing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, or similar).
Excellent analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements related to the construction industry.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
