Role Overview
The Senior Business Development Associate will be responsible for generating new business, acquiring corporate clients, managing the sales pipeline and converting opportunities into profitable contracts. The role requires strong knowledge of facility management services, proposal preparation, pricing, tender management, client negotiations and operational handover.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Sales
Identify and develop new B2B business opportunities.
Generate leads through networking, LinkedIn, market research, referrals and outbound outreach.
Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting to commercial closure.
Conduct client meetings, presentations and requirement discussions.
Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurate forecasts.
Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
Develop and manage key corporate accounts.
Facility Management Knowledge
The candidate should understand:
Soft Services: Housekeeping, pantry services, pest control, landscaping, façade cleaning and workplace support.
Hard Services: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, DG sets, fire-fighting systems, STP/WTP, building maintenance, MEP and technical manpower.
Integrated Services: AMC contracts, Integrated Facility Management, corporate workplace management and industrial facility management.
Tender and Proposal Management
Analyse RFQs, RFPs, tenders and scopes of work.
Participate in site surveys and requirement assessment.
Understand BOQs, manpower deployment and equipment requirements.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals.
Coordinate cost estimation and pricing.
Ensure proposals clearly mention scope, inclusions, exclusions and commercial terms.
Handle proposal follow-ups and tender clarifications.
Client Relationship Management
Build relationships with Facility Heads, Procurement Teams, Engineering Heads, Administration Heads and senior management.
Conduct CXO-level presentations and business discussions.
Understand client concerns and recommend suitable solutions.
Support client retention, contract renewals and account expansion.
Manage objections, conflicts and commercial discussions professionally.
Develop long-term relationships with strategic accounts.
Commercial and Financial Management
Prepare pricing models based on manpower, equipment, consumables and operational costs.
Review gross margins and profitability before proposal submission.
Participate in contract and pricing negotiations.
Understand payment terms, penalties, retention, escalation and SLA deductions.
Ensure that proposed commercials remain operationally feasible and profitable.
Coordinate pricing approvals with management and finance teams.
Market Intelligence
Conduct competitor analysis and market mapping.
Identify new industries, locations and business opportunities.
Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitor offerings.
Segment potential clients based on industry and business potential.
Conduct win-loss analysis for important proposals.
Technical and Operational Coordination
Participate in facility audits and site surveys.
Understand manpower, equipment and compliance requirements.
Support the preparation of SLAs, KPIs and deployment plans.
Coordinate with operations, HR, finance and compliance teams.
Ensure a proper handover after receipt of the purchase order.
Support client onboarding, mobilisation and initial implementation.
CRM and Reporting
Maintain accurate lead, opportunity and client records in Zoho CRM.
Update pipeline value, stages, follow-up dates and expected closures.
Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
Track conversion ratios, revenue, proposal value and forecast accuracy.
Use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace and LinkedIn Sales Navigator effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
Graduate in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Engineering or a related field.
MBA in Sales, Marketing or Business Development will be preferred.
5–6 years of B2B sales or business development experience.
Experience in facility management, technical services, manpower supply or engineering services is preferred.
Experience in tenders, proposals, client negotiations and corporate sales.
Working knowledge of CRM tools, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
