Job Description – Sales Engineer (Projects)
Position: Sales Engineer – Projects
Department: Sales / Projects
Reporting To: Sales Head / Business Head
Location: Field + Office
Role Objective
To drive project-based sales by combining technical expertise with sales capability, ensuring conversion of opportunities into profitable projects while coordinating seamlessly between client, design, and execution teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Sales & Revenue Generation
Identify and develop opportunities in:
Builders & Developers
Industrial Projects
Commercial Spaces
Infrastructure & Institutional Projects
Achieve monthly & quarterly project sales targets.
Build a strong pipeline of high-value projects.
2. Technical Solutioning & Proposal
Understand client requirements and site conditions.
Design techno-commercial solutions for:
Home Automation
Low Voltage Systems (CCTV, Access Control, etc.)
Energy Saving Solutions
Electric Fencing
Prepare BOQ, cost estimates, and proposals.
3. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Conduct meetings with decision-makers (owners, consultants, architects, contractors).
Present solutions with clear ROI and technical advantage.
Build long-term relationships for repeat and referral business.
4. Site Visits & Project Evaluation
Conduct site surveys and feasibility assessments.
Coordinate with internal technical teams for accurate design inputs.
Ensure all project requirements are clearly captured before proposal submission.
5. Tendering & Negotiation
Participate in tenders, RFQs, and bidding processes.
Handle price negotiations, technical clarifications, and scope alignment.
Ensure profitability while closing deals.
6. Sales Funnel & CRM Management
Maintain accurate data in CRM (leads, meetings, proposals, follow-ups).
Track project lifecycle: Lead → Site Visit → Proposal → Negotiation → Closure.
Ensure zero lead leakage.
7. Project Handover & Coordination
Ensure smooth handover to execution/installation team post-sale.
Clarify scope, timelines, and client expectations.
Support project team in case of client-side clarifications.
8. Market Intelligence
Track competitor pricing, solutions, and positioning.
Identify new opportunities in emerging segments.
Share insights with management for strategy improvement.
