Logistics Manager

We are looking for a Logistic Manager to join our team at Newaskar Logistic Private Limited. This role involves acquiring new clients and driving business growth, building relationships with customers, and achieving sales targets. Identifying leads, pitching products or services, and ensuring client satisfaction will be the main responsibility. The position offers an in-hand salary of ₹20,000 - ₹40,000 along with performance-based incentives and opportunities for career growth.

# JOB DESCRIPTION

### 1. Job Purpose

To manage and maintain the company's fleet of commercial vehicles, material handling equipment (MHE), and maintenance infrastructure to ensure vehicle availability, operational safety, cost control, and minimum downtime.

### 2. Key Responsibilities

A. Fleet Maintenance

- Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of trucks, trailers, and other commercial vehicles.

- Ensure timely servicing, oil changes, tyre replacement, and mechanical repairs.

- Monitor vehicle fitness certificates, PUC, insurance, permits, and other statutory documents.

- Maintain vehicle-wise maintenance records and service history.

- Minimize vehicle breakdowns and unplanned downtime.

B. Workshop & Vendor Management

- Manage workshop activities, mechanics, technicians, and maintenance staff.

- Coordinate with authorized service centres, garages, tyre suppliers, and spare-parts vendors.

- Verify repair estimates, invoices, and job completion reports.

- Ensure the availability of critical spare parts and maintenance tools.

C. Cost Control & Budgeting

- Prepare and monitor monthly maintenance budgets.

- Track vehicle-wise repair costs, tyre expenses, fuel-related mechanical issues, and spare-parts consumption.

- Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs without compromising safety.

- Analyze repeated failures and implement corrective actions.

D. Breakdown Management

- Coordinate emergency repairs and roadside assistance.

- Ensure quick resolution of breakdowns to minimize delivery delays.

- Conduct root-cause analysis of recurring mechanical failures.

- Coordinate with transport and operations teams for vehicle replacement or route adjustments.

E. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure vehicles comply with applicable road safety and transport regulations.

- Monitor vehicle inspection schedules and roadworthiness.

- Ensure safe working practices in workshops and maintenance areas.

- Maintain records of inspections, repairs, accidents, and compliance activities.

F. Equipment & Facility Maintenance

- Supervise maintenance of forklifts, pallet trucks, loading equipment, and other MHE, wherever applicable.

- Coordinate repairs of workshop equipment and related infrastructure.

- Support warehouse teams in maintaining operational equipment availability.

G. Team Management & Reporting

- Allocate duties to mechanics, technicians, and maintenance supervisors.

- Train staff on maintenance procedures and workplace safety.

- Submit daily breakdown reports and monthly maintenance performance reports.

- Coordinate with fleet, transport, procurement, accounts, and warehouse departments.

### 3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Vehicle availability percentage.

- Number of breakdowns per month.

- Average vehicle repair turnaround time.

- Maintenance cost per kilometre.

- Preventive maintenance compliance percentage.

- Tyre life and tyre cost per kilometre.

- Repeat repair and failure rate.

- Vehicle fitness and document compliance.

- Maintenance budget adherence.

### 4. Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering.

- 5–8 years of experience in fleet maintenance, commercial vehicles, transportation, or logistics.

- Experience managing trucks, trailers, workshops, mechanics, and maintenance vendors.

- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules, spare-parts management, and statutory compliance.

- Working knowledge of MS Excel and fleet maintenance software.
