Career Counselor Qualifications & Skills
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field.
Certification in Career Counseling or a related professional area.
Experience in educational or career advising environments.
Strong knowledge of local and national job markets.
Proficiency in using career assessment tools and software.
Exceptional presentation and workshop facilitation skills.
Experience with resume writing and job application processes.
Skills in networking and employer engagement.
Experience with diverse populations and understanding of multicultural competencies.
Bachelor's degree in Career Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in career counseling
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to effectively assess client needs and develop individualized career plans
Knowledge of job search strategies, education and training programs, and community resources
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
