Job Description

Position: Senior Sales & Business Development Executive

Location: Talwade Pune

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Package: ₹36,0000 to ₹48,0000 (depending on skills and experience)

PREFERRED EDUCATION: B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3–5 years in a manufacturing company within the automobile sector.

Function: Techno-Commercial Sales & Account Development

Reporting To: Sales / BD Team Lead (L3)

The L2 Sales & Business Development Executive is a techno-commercial owner of customer accounts, responsible for independently managing RFQs, pricing, negotiations, project coordination, and client relationships.

This role bridges engineering understanding and commercial execution, ensuring profitable order conversion, smooth project flow, and sustained customer trust.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

RFQ Evaluation & Costing

• Independently evaluate RFQs across Prototyping, Tooling, CNC Machining, and Injection Moulding.

• Perform end-to-end costing independently, including material, process, tooling, outsourcing, and margin planning.

• Consult Manufacturing L3 / L4 only for highly complex or non-standard cases.

• Prepare and submit quotations to clients within defined TAT.

Client Interaction & Deal Closure

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.

• Conduct technical discussions with customers on process feasibility, material selection, and design manufacturability.

• Independently negotiate pricing, timelines, and commercial terms while safeguarding profitability.

• Drive RFQ-to-order conversion and ensure clarity of scope before order confirmation.

Business Development & New Client Acquisition

• Actively contribute to acquisition of new strategic clients.

• Support BD efforts through cold reach-outs, exhibitions & conference lead generation, meetings and factory visits, and solving client’s problems.

Project Coordination & Order Execution Support

• Act as the client-facing project coordinator post order confirmation, especially for Prototyping projects.

• Coordinate with internal PPC, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align delivery timelines.

• Proactively communicate project updates, flag delays, and manage customer expectations.

• Ensure SOP-based internal handover of new projects through defined systems and formats.

Vendor Management (Outsourcing)

• Coordinate with approved external vendors for outsourced processes.

• Obtain and negotiate vendor quotations to maintain targeted margins.

• Place orders, track execution, and ensure quality and delivery compliance.

• Resolve execution issues in coordination with internal teams.

Account Development & Relationship Building

• Build long-term relationships with assigned customer accounts.

• Regularly interact with clients through calls, meetings, factory visits, and site visits.

• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across Marcopolo’s service portfolio.

Payment & Commercial Risk Control

• Define appropriate payment terms based on customer risk profile.

• Ensure timely collection of payments and actively follow up on receivables.

• Escalate potential bad-debt risks early.

MIS, Process Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain accurate RFQ, quotation, order, and client data in defined systems.

• Submit weekly MIS reports on RFQs, conversions, revenue, and receivables.

• Ensure strict adherence to sales SOPs, pricing discipline, and ERP / Google Sheet workflows.
