Area Sales Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Area Sales Manager to join our team for an FMCG sales role. The ideal candidate should have experience in FMCG sales, distributor management, retail sales, market expansion, and achieving sales targets.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the assigned territory, developing the distribution network, maintaining strong relationships with distributors and retailers, and driving overall sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, dealers, retailers, and key customers.

• Identify new markets and business opportunities to increase sales.

• Appoint and manage distributors and ensure proper market coverage.

• Handle primary and secondary sales and monitor sales performance.

• Plan and execute market visits and sales activities.

• Ensure product availability and visibility across the assigned territory.

• Monitor competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and market trends.

• Manage and guide Sales Officers / Sales Representatives where applicable.

• Ensure timely collection of payments and follow up on outstanding dues.

• Conduct regular market visits to understand customer requirements and market conditions.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.

• Implement company sales strategies, promotional schemes, and marketing activities.

• Achieve sales growth through effective territory and customer management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum qualification: 12th Pass / Graduate.

• 1–4 years of experience in FMCG sales preferred.

• Strong knowledge of distributor and retailer handling.

• Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong sales and target-oriented approach.

• Ability to handle field sales and frequent market visits.

• Good knowledge of the local market.

• Ability to work independently and manage assigned territory effectively.

• Strong follow-up and relationship-management skills.

• Candidates from the FMCG / Consumer Goods / Retail Sales industry will be preferred.

• It is a Full Time Sales / Business Development job for candidates with 1 - 4 years of experience.
