Position Summary
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving retail and channel sales of Edgebands across Bangalore and surrounding markets. The role focuses on distributor management, dealer development, retail market expansion, secondary sales growth, and strengthening market presence through effective channel engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Channel Sales Management
Drive primary and secondary sales through distributors and dealers.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
Develop and execute sales plans to increase market penetration and business growth.
Monitor distributor performance and ensure target achievement.
Distributor Management
Appoint and develop new distributors as per business requirements.
Maintain strong relationships with existing distributors and key channel partners.
Ensure adequate inventory levels and product availability across the territory.
Monitor stock movement and coordinate replenishment activities.
Retail Network Development
Expand dealer and retailer network across Bangalore and Karnataka markets.
Increase product visibility and availability at retail counters.
Conduct regular market visits to strengthen retailer engagement.
Identify new business opportunities through channel expansion.
Sales Execution
Ensure effective implementation of sales and promotional initiatives.
Track secondary sales performance and market coverage.
Support distributors in achieving business objectives and market development activities.
Drive product adoption and increase share of business within existing accounts.
Market Intelligence
Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and market developments.
Gather market feedback and provide actionable insights to management.
Identify growth opportunities and emerging customer requirements.
Customer & Partner Relationship Management
Build long-term relationships with dealers, distributors, and key customers.
Resolve channel-related issues in coordination with internal teams.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service support.
Desired Candidate Profile
4–8 years of experience in channel sales, distribution sales, or retail sales.
Experience in edgebands, laminates, plywood, MDF, particle boards, furniture fittings, decorative surfaces, building materials, or related industries.
Strong network of distributors, dealers, and retailers in Chennai.
Proven track record in sales growth and channel development.
Strong negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
Proficient in market mapping and territory management.
