Job Title: Civil Site Store Incharge

Department: Construction / Site Management

Job Summary:

The Civil Site Store Incharge is responsible for the efficient management of construction materials and inventory at the project site. This role ensures smooth operations by maintaining accurate records, overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, and coordinating with procurement, vendors, and site engineers to prevent material shortages and delays. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, site experience, and a proactive approach to inventory control and material handling.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Store & Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.

• Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and preservation of materials as per standards.

• Conduct regular physical verification of stock (daily, weekly, monthly).

• Update stock register, ERP system, and issue slips consistently.

2. Material Receipt & Inspection

• Verify quantity and quality of materials received as per PO, DC & invoice.

• Coordinate with Quality and Site Engineers for material approval.

• Raise discrepancy reports for damaged or short-supplied materials.

3. Issue & Consumption Monitoring

• Issue materials to the site as per approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS).

• Monitor and control material wastage.

• Maintain records of material consumption by activity and location.

4. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain GRNs, delivery challans, invoices, MRS, gate passes, and stock registers.

• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly store reports for internal audits.

• Ensure compliance with company SOPs and safety protocols.

5. Vendor & Coordination

• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and vendors for timely supply.

• Manage reverse logistics for returnable items and surplus material.

• Assist in vendor material reconciliation and billing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma / ITI / Graduate (Preferably in Civil Engineering or Material Management)

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in construction site stores or warehouse operations

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Excel, ERP software (SAP, Tally, or any store management tool)

  • Knowledge of construction materials, IS codes, and safety norms

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills

  • Attention to detail and analytical mindset

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities

• Accuracy of stock records vs. physical inventory

• Timeliness of material issue & receipts

• Reduction in wastage and surplus material

• Store audit results and compliance score

• Vendor material reconciliation efficiency
