Retail Sales Executive

1. Job Purpose

To provide an excellent customer experience, understand customer requirements, present suitable jewellery products, generate sales, and achieve assigned monthly sales targets while maintaining showroom standards and customer relationships.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Customer Handling

• Welcome and greet customers professionally as per showroom SOP.

• Understand customer requirements, preferences, budget and occasion.

• Attend customers effectively and provide personalized product recommendations.

• Explain product features, designs, quality, purity, weight, pricing and making charges.

• Handle customer queries, objections and concerns professionally.

• Ensure a smooth and positive customer experience from entry to billing.

B. Sales & Target Achievement

• Achieve monthly and yearly sales targets assigned by management.

• Generate sales across Gold, Diamond, Silver, 925 Sterling Silver, Gemstones and other jewellery categories.

• Demonstrate products effectively and recommend suitable alternatives.

• Upsell and cross-sell relevant products.

• Follow up with customers for quotations, enquiries, pending sales and repeat purchases.

• Convert walk-ins, enquiries, referrals and existing customer leads into sales.

• Maintain proper follow-up and update customer status in ERP/CRM.

C. Product Knowledge

• Maintain strong knowledge of jewellery designs, collections and categories.

• Understand gold purity, karat, diamond basics, gemstones, silver and 925 products.

• Explain product specifications accurately to customers.

• Stay updated about new launches, offers, schemes and promotional campaigns.

• Participate actively in product and sales training programs.

D. Customer Relationship Management

• Build long-term relationships with customers.

• Maintain regular follow-up with existing customers.

• Encourage repeat purchases and referrals.

• Inform customers about new collections, events, offers and special occasions.

• Collect customer feedback and share relevant information with the reporting manager.

E. Showroom Operations

• Maintain proper display and presentation of jewellery.

• Ensure products are handled carefully and returned to the designated location after customer trials.

• Follow all jewellery handling, security, billing and inventory SOPs.

• Coordinate with the cashier, back office, repair and other departments whenever required.

• Maintain cleanliness and professional grooming standards.

F. Documentation & Reporting

• Ensure all customer enquiries and follow-ups are updated in the ERP/CRM.

• Maintain accurate records of quotations, follow-ups and sales.

• Submit daily/weekly sales and follow-up reports as required.

• Ensure customer information and transaction details are handled confidentially.

5. Qualification & Experience

Education: Minimum 12th Pass; Graduate preferred.

Experience:

• 1–3 years of experience in jewellery retail sales preferred.

• Candidates from premium retail, luxury retail, fashion or other sales industries may also be considered.

• Freshers with excellent communication and sales aptitude can be considered.

• Working days and weekly off as per showroom schedule.

• Employee must follow prescribed showroom working hours, uniform and grooming standards.

• Employee may be required to work on weekends and festivals as per business requirements.
