Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Executive with hands-on experience in managing payroll for a large workforce of 1,500+ employees and workers. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in payroll processing, contractor payments, data management, and advanced Excel skills, ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursement along with statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 1,500+ employees, including permanent staff, contractual workers, and daily wage employees
Process monthly salaries, overtime, incentives, deductions, arrears, and full & final settlements
Ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement
Contractor & Labour Payments
Handle contractor billing, labour payments, and wage reconciliation
Validate attendance, man-days, and rates as per agreements before processing payments
Coordinate with contractors to resolve discrepancies and payment-related queries
Attendance & Data Management
Collate and validate attendance data from biometric/WMS systems
Maintain accurate payroll records, employee master data, and wage registers
Ensure strong data control, accuracy, and confidentiality
Statutory Compliance
Manage statutory deductions including PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, TDS, etc.
Prepare and file statutory returns, ensuring timely compliance
Coordinate with consultants and government authorities when required
Reporting & MIS
Prepare payroll MIS, cost reports, variance analysis, and headcount reports
Support internal/external audits with payroll data and reconciliations
Generate management reports as required
Excel & Systems
Utilize advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, data validation) for payroll processing and reporting
Ensure high data accuracy while handling large volumes of employee data
Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related activities
Key Skills & Competencies
Experience in managing high-volume payroll (1,500+ headcount)
Strong proficiency in advanced Excel and data handling
Good understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage tight deadlines and large datasets
Strong coordination and communication skills
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, HR, or a related field
Certification in Payroll or Labour Laws will be an added advantage
