Key Responsibilities
1. Attendance & Leave Management
Tracking daily attendance, leave records applied / approved, balances through HRMS.
Ensure state-specific compliance with the Shops and Establishment Act.
2. Payroll Processing & Statutory Compliance
Ensuring Min Wages Act is followed as per the State, have accurate salary breakup structure in place including Basic + DA, HRA (wherever applicable), allowances, and deductions (TDS, PF, ESI, PTax, LWF)
Ensure timely:
TDS deductions under Income Tax Act ensuring emplopyees have chosen the Tax Slab, submitted Investment documents to have TDS deducted appropriately
PF/ESI contributions and LWF payments are made well within time, ensure challans are reconciled against deductions made and payments released.
Professional Tax filings as per state regulations.
Payslips with no of days worked, leave availed, leave balance, clear deduction breakdown be uploaded not later than 12th of the month.
3. Labor Law Compliance
Conduct audits to ensure 100% compliance with state-wise statutory variations
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records for PF/ESI challans, attendance logs, and leave approvals
Prepare compliance reports for internal audits and labor inspections
5. Employee Queries & Dispute Resolution
Address employee concerns on payroll discrepancies
Required Skills
Expertise in HRMS tools for payroll automation
In-depth knowledge of EPFO/ESIC portals, TDS software, and state labor portals
Analytical skills to interpret changing labor laws and tax regimes
Attention to detail for error-free payroll processing and filings
Work Environment
On-site role with occasional travel for labor inspections or audits.
Collaboration with Admin/Finance/Labour Consultants and Compliance authorities.
