A Payroll Executive is responsible for accurately and on-time processing employee payroll, ensuring compliance with all related laws and regulations. Key duties include calculating wages, handling deductions, maintaining payroll records, and resolving employee payroll queries. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of payroll systems and software.
Key responsibilities
Process payroll: Accurately calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions for all employees.
Ensure compliance: Adhere to federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
Maintain records: Keep employee payroll records and data up-to-date, including attendance, leaves, and personal information.
Handle inquiries: Respond to employee questions and resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies.
Manage taxes and benefits: Prepare and file payroll tax reports and payments, and ensure proper deductions for benefits like taxes, social security, and insurance.
Generate reports: Create and provide payroll reports to management for review and analysis.
Collaborate with other departments: Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy and seamless operations.
Manage payroll systems: Administer and maintain payroll software, and stay updated on system upgrades and changes in payroll regulations.
Assist with audits: Help with payroll-related audits and general ledger preparation.
Required skills and qualifications
Proven experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Clerk, or similar role.
Strong math skills with an ability to detect and correct numerical errors.
Proficiency with HRIS and accounting software.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
